John Goodhue, Owner & General Contractor
Building runs in John's blood. He grew up around his father's company, Goodhue Bros Builders, a family construction business that has served New Jersey for more than 48 years. Watching that business built on integrity, craftsmanship, and doing right by clients shaped how John approaches every project today.
John moved to Maui about 15 years ago and has spent his career in the trenches of island construction — as a builder, project manager, and eventually general manager for a respected local Maui construction company. That experience gave him a first-hand understanding of what Maui homeowners and business owners actually need from a contractor: honest communication, steady project management, and work that holds up against the island's climate and terrain.
Now, with both licensing exams passed and his Hawaii General Contractor license in hand, John is bringing that same standard of care to his own company: Maluhia Builders.

Before founding Maluhia Builders, John helped Maui homeowners rebuild and renovate through some of the most difficult projects on the island — including families rebuilding after the 2023 Maui wildfires.
I unfortunately lost my home in the Maui wildfires of 2023. It was an incredibly trying journey, but John Goodhue was my light at the end of a long, dark tunnel. He assisted from the very beginning all the way through final occupancy. His contacts with contractors were top notch — he's trusted by everyone in the business because of his work ethic.
